The North Central Regional Educational Laboratory (NCREL®) is one of the 10 regional educational laboratories funded by the U.S. Department of Education, and its work is conducted by Learning Point Associates. As a member of the Regional Educational Laboratory Network, NCREL is dedicated to providing high-quality, research-based resources to educators and policymakers in the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

Learning Point Magazine CoverThe Fall 2005 issue of NCREL's Learning Point magazine, "Quality Quest: High-Performing Learning Communities,” features a look at the challenges of placing a high-quality teacher in every classroom, the sustained improvement potential when school decisions are data-driven, and the genuine achievement possible when partners in education work together.

Also detailed are a range of timely resources, tools, policy insights, and current research, with the goal of helping educators understand and implement the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act, improve adolescent literacy, integrate technology, and close achievement gaps.
