DESCRIPTION
To be prepared for full participation in a democracy, students must possess the accompanying knowledge and skill components. Active democratic conditions are required in schools before educating for democracy can thrive. The Educating for Democracy checklist is a free questionnaire for all educators to reflect on and evaluate the conditions of democracy education in their school or district. The checklist covers four areas: democratic school structures, culturally relevant learning, parent and community involvement, and the quality and context of democracy education.
