DESCRIPTION
The Scoring Guide for Student Products is a free Web-based guide created primarily for collaborative evaluators to assess content knowledge and effective use of technology in products that students create using computers. Individual teachers also can use the Scoring Guide to examine computer-based student work or evaluate lesson plans that employ technology. The Scoring Guide enables objective estimation of student learning based on predetermined standards independent of local expectations of individual teachers or schools.

The Scoring Guide establishes and elevates the bar of student achievement through reflective dialogue, which is essential for advancing effective communication skills. Teachers complete a Teacher Lesson Profile that incorporates information about lesson plans, teacher experiences with technology, and assessment strategies. Students respond to a Learning Profile exploring student understanding of the content and use of technology. Reflective dialogue that ensues aims to evaluate assessment, student mastery of content, the use of technology, and the value of technology to the product.
