QuickTime Accessibility FAQ
What accessibility features are available and how do I use them?
Closed Captions (CC)
Some of our Quicktime Video's have Closed Captions. In order to use this feature, simply click on the "CC" button in the lower left of the video itself. This will open the CC track. Click on the "CC" button again to close the Closed Captioning.
Additional Audio Tracks
Some videos have multiple audio tracks. The main sound track is on by default. It can be turned off by typing "k" and can be turned back on by typing "j."
An additional track is sometimes available that descibes what is going on in the video. Either descriptions of PowerePoint slides or descriptions of what's happening in the video. This alternate track can be turned on (it is off by default) by typing "d" and turned off by typing "f."
Text Transcripts
Transcripts are sometimes provided and can be found by clicking on the "transcripts" link that is found immediately above and to the right of the movie itself.
