Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity (SEED) Project on Inclusive Curriculum

The Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity (SEED) Project on Inclusive Curriculum is a professional development program based at the Center for Research on Women at Wellesley College, in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Since 1987, the project has offered a Summer Leaders' Workshop to educate teachers about multicultural pedagogy, curriculum, and institutional change. When these teachers return home to their local schools, they hold meetings throughout the school year with other teachers to discuss strategies for making school curricula gender-fair and multicultural. In these meetings, participants read or view resources relating to gender, race, and class relations, and then discuss the implications for the school setting. Topics include multicultural research, teaching methods, curriculum, and school climate.

More than 5,000 educators have participated in SEED seminars throughout the United States and in English-speaking international schools.
