Changes in Staffing

Staffing school-linked service efforts creates new challenges for some school staff. The positions of school social workers and school nurses often are changed or significantly redefined. The school community may decide that additional health services are needed at the school, and a that a nurse from the local health department will be redeployed to provide services at the school three times a week. This decision must be made in collaboration with the existing school nurse, and the specific details about any changes in that nurse's roles and responsibilities must be negotiated early on.
