Restructuring

Pathways Home

Restructuring schools involves "changing the nature of what schools do and what is required of their personnel," note Jehl and Kirst (1992, pp. 97-98). "In essence, restructuring includes an examination of the organization itself, to make it more responsive to the needs of its students. If students and families need more support, restructuring looks at alternative methods to provide that support" (p. 98). Establishing school-linked services through school restructuring is an important way to support students and families by meeting their health and social needs.
