Lesson Objectives: To infuse TAOD Education/Prevention information into my subject lesson.
Subject Objective: To encourage creativity and provide the opportunity to practice drawing skills.
Prevention Objective: To enhance the TAOD prevention lessons the children have been receiveing in health class.

Completion of the assignment; did they follow directions?; did they stay "on task"?

Using the info they had already gained from health discussions and/or the resources available in the art room, the students will choose a "No use" message. Students will pu that message on that grocery bag and illustrate the message. Each child will show his/her bag to the rest of the class. The bags will be returned to the gorcery store. Patrons will have their groceries packed into the bags the children have illustrated. In this way the prevention messages will go out to parents and community members. |
brown paper grocery bags donated by a local grocery that does not have a huge logo covering the entire bag. prevention pamphlets and info readable by 3rd grader pencils, crayons, markers, etc. |
