Mentors

Pathways Home

Besides its more common definition as an advisor in the business world, the term mentor can be used to describe an adult volunteer who serves as a positive role model for a youth. The mentor has a one-on-one relationship with the youth and encourages the youth's personal development. Mentoring is often designed to address the needs of youth who are at risk for educational failure, substance abuse, delinquency, and teen pregnancy.
