Dollars in Boston Public Schools
The following chart shows the distribution of salary dollars in the Boston Public Schools during the 1998-1999 school year. Of the total $262,645,157 spent to pay teacher salaries, 36 percent of that sum was paid to teachers for extra years of teaching experience or accumulated education credits.
