Work Simulation

Paris and Mason (1995) describe work simulation:
"Work simulation involves providing work experience education either in the
classroom or in the community through simulated work experiences. According to
Bailey (1993), some of the most common forms of work simulation are among the
oldest forms of work-based learning practiced. Simulated work experiences of
this nature offer the option of locating work experience for students outside
of the business and industry infrastructure, and are ideal options for
non-industrialized or rural communities." (p. 48)
Two types of simulated work experiences are school-based enterprises and supervised
occupational experiences.
