
Information About School-to-Work Reforms for Prospective and Beginning Teachers

"The transition from novice to established teacher is
too critical to be left to chance as it has been in the past. As
demands for reforms and improvement in education continue, there
is a need to find a productive and effective way to assist the
beginning teacher in making a smooth transition. What is needed
is a structured, well-conceived, collaborative approach to
induction assistance, based on research, educational theory,
experience, and the best thinking that we can bring to bear on
the problem." (Camp & Heath-Camp, 1992)
