Linda Christensen

Linda Christensen, director of instruction at Verona Area High School in Verona, Wisconsin, talks about the importance of connecting the research base with practice. Excerpted from the videoseries, Schools That Work: The Research Advantage, videoconference 4, Alternatives for Measuring Performance (NCREL,1991).

"The research base I think is incredibly important. Understanding the research base and then meshing that with practice and then being able to convincingly let parents in the community know that we are changing systems in terms of assessment for these reasons, and what we're finding in that change process is that this is better because it's supported by research, it's supported by what I have found in the last however many months of my change process in the classroom."
