Pathways Home

Rubrics are specific criteria or guidelines used to evaluate student work. They describe what is being assessed, provide a scoring scale, and help the teacher or rater correctly place student work on the scale. Rubrics provide students with a clear understanding of the teacher's expectations for the quality, quantity, and goals to be accomplished in student assignments and projects. Students need to be aware of rubrics when work is assigned so that they understand and strive to meet these expectations.
