Task Force on Technological Equity

Pathways Home

McInerney and Park (1986) suggest that a task force be formed to ensure equitable use of a school's technology:

"Parents, teachers, administrators, and students in local educational agencies should have a committee to serve as a watchdog in the school system. This committee can search out useful information for school personnel to help them stay current on developments in hardware and software products. Other functions for the task force could include developing an evaluation process to ensure that optimum learning takes place in an equitable manner. Easy-to-use record-keeping systems can be suggested so that school staff can monitor use of technology programs by sex, race, national, origin, and disability, as well as by mainstream students."
