Williams: I try to incorporate as much technology as possible because I have second language learners. And, they, as much as I try to do read-alouds and model the use of the language, I am not always available, and technology provides and supports what I do in the classroom in that respect. They need to hear the language as much as possible, so if they are listening to books on the computer and reading them while they are on the computer, they are listening to language. If they are listening and reading while they are listening on cassettes and reading along, then they are listening to language. If they are looking for a word on a Homework Whiz, it pronounces the word for them and tell, it tells them what they need so again they are listening to language. Anything that allows them to listen to language as much as possible is used in the classroom.
