Co-nect Schools combine high standards for all students with a focus on technology and project-based learning. Bolt Beranek and Newman Inc., a communications company and Internet service provider, developed the K-12 design with two educational organizations and an environmental group. At the schools implementing the design, students use technology to work collaboratively and learn by doing. Each school develops a clear set of standards that apply to all students and are based on national, state, and local standards. Teachers work in interdisciplinary teams and measure student progress using authentic assessment.
