The North Central Regional Educational Laboratory and the Chicago Public Schools (1992) describe Working Together to Succeed in School:
"Thirty Chicago public elementary and high schools participate in the Chicago Neighborhood Organizing Project's parent and student training program, Working Together to Succeed in School (WTSS). WTSS is a program designed to: 1) increase parents' understanding and involvement in their children's education; 2) empower parents with the necessary skills, knowledge, and confidence to help their children learn; 3) enable students to master the necessary study, test taking, time management, and note-taking skills to succeed in school; and 4) share strategies with parents for participating in Chicago's school reform initiatives. WTSS is offered without charge and will be expanding to 30 additional schools through 1996." (p. 24)
