K Leap

Pathways Home

K Leap is a one-on-one regular education early intervention literacy tutorial program developed in Naperville CUSD #203 for at-risk kindergarten students. K Leap services are delivered daily by trained paraprofessional tutors for approximately 50 sessions between February and May. Tutors follow a prescribed sequence with specific time allotments designated for each component. The fifteen-minute session addresses skill development and the application of those skills to reading and writing. The locally developed K Leap lesson model includes alphabet study, phonemic awareness, interactive writing and supported book reading of emergent level books. The program is coordinated by certified reading specialists.
