[Audio file, 231k] Excerpted from the video series Schools That Work: The Research Advantage, videoconference #8, Integrating Community Services (NCREL, 1992).

"And because a lot of schools maybe as taking on all the responsibility of the family and other units that have existed in the past, I think is even a stronger voice for us linking arms with other agencies in the community so that we can collaboratively work together to try and provide the foundation, the support, that our learners need today to be more successful as they attempt to learn more skills."

This Critical Issue was researched and written by Atelia Melaville, consultant and co-author of Together We Can: A Guide for Crafting a Profamily System of Education and Human Services (U.S. Department of Education and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 1993), as well as past senior associate at the Center for the Study of Social Policy.
